Support Financial Literacy Education
Historically, charitable contributions from creditors enabled us to provide education services – financial counseling, education workshops, or general community awareness – free of charge. Substantial reductions in contributions from participating creditors has compelled us to seek other sources of funding to support the delivery of expanded services. We need your help to ensure that those who are unable to pay for our services have immediate access to personal one-on-one counseling and education. Seventy-five percent of our clients are working to re-establish their finances after a life event such as a job loss, death, divorce, illness or other event out of their control. When families are in the midst of a life change such as those noted above, getting a handle on the finances is often a big piece of the solution that will help the family begin to rebuild their lives. Donations help individuals find solutions and avoid bigger financial problems. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by the I.R.S. FCF is exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Every year, we help thousands of individuals and families find solutions to complicated financial problems by meeting with a certified counselor that helps them seek options and learn new financial management skills.Last year alone, over 25,000 individuals and families received one-to-one personal financial counseling and education, an increase of over 100%. That includes young families facing eviction, elderly homeowners facing foreclosure, men and women of all ages who have lost their jobs and are struggling to meet their financial obligations, and providing financial literacy education for youth. FCF offers realistic solutions and hope to individuals and families dealing with all types of financial hardship situations. For every $250 contributed, FCF
90 Minute Financial Counseling Session As you can see the cost for providing a 90 minute personal financial counseling session costs over $60 and the demand for our services continues to increase. Financial Institutions who were once major contributors to our services have drastically reduced their financial contributions. Your donation will allow us to provide free counseling and education programs to more individuals and families in need and will help create a brighter financial future in the fight against poverty and debt.
