FAQs

What can I expect when I start the coaching program?
Your coach will spend approximately 30-45 minutes assessing your particular financial situation. The way that you learn will be evaluated along with your specific needs, goals, and most pressing financial problems. Your coach will then set up a specific coaching schedule with you designed to fit your lifestyle. Both you (and your spouse or partner) and will sign a Coach/Client Engagement Agreement.

How do I sign up?
Take the first step toward a better tomorrow by calling 1-800-351-4195 and requesting a FREE, no-obligation, no-pressure initial coaching evaluation with a Certified Financial Counselor who will help you determine whether coaching is right for you.

Should I include my spouse/partner in the coaching experience?
Yes, if you are married, engaged, or share finances with a partner, FCF recommends that you include your partner in the coaching program. The coaching program is designed to address emotional issues surrounding money and cannot properly help individuals and families apply the program unless both partners are involved and fully committed.

What results can I expect?
On average, participants increase their knowledge, improve their overall financial situation, lower their daily stress levels, lower their debt load, and increase their savings. The long-term results are endless.

What does the program cost?
There is a $125 tuition fee for the complete 12-week coaching program.

What length of time must I commit to receive coaching?
The coaching program is a 12-week program. It takes at least this much time to set up a working relationship with your coach and to follow the principles for getting spending and borrowing under control and maximizing savings.

How much time will be required to receive coaching?
Coaching sessions usually last between 30-45 minutes. Assignments and specific tasks to be completed may take further time to complete. FCF recommends beginning coaching when you can devote uninterrupted time to getting your financial life in order.

Why do I need a financial coach if I already have a financial planner?
Financial advisors and planners are paid to give people advice about investing, retirement, estate planning, etc. A personal financial coach teaches you how to be more efficient with the money you already make, showing you how to spend, save, and reduce debt. A coach will help you establish your own plan, while a financial advisor usually creates a dependent relationship that forces you to rely on them for information, rather than teaching you correct principles that you can then use to govern your own financial life. A financial coach encourages you to be accountable and responsible for your own financial decision making, while a financial advisor expects to be paid to take responsibility for what happens to your money. The goal of a financial coach is to develop an educated client, one who can see what his or her values are.
